Enjoying Candle Making

Candle MakingThe craft has worldwide roots dating back to pre-historic times. The craft grew out of the necessity for light when the evening has come. The candle is a burnable wick surrounded by a medium that allows for a longer burning time than if the wick were to burn by itself. At one time tallow, made from animal fat, was used for making candles. This is because tallow was widely available, the problem is tallow produced a heavy odor and black smoke. In time beeswax came to be used in the manufacture of candles. The beeswax offered a sweeter fragrance and less smoke than tallow.

The Whole Family Will Enjoy
